Buddha’s Breath: An Introduction to the 16 Stages of Cultivating the Mind

Dr. Hun Lye leads us in the practice of Mindfulness of Breathing (Anapanasati) as taught by the historical Buddha throughout his life as a teacher. Through this gentle and gradual method, one can progressively calm and heal one’s body and mind, establish authentic presence and develop liberative insight.

Dr. Lye teaches this set of meditation stages based on an approach to the Mindfulness of Breathing known as Shravasti Meditation. This meditation approach was developed by the Drikung Kyabgön Chetsang Rinpoche, head of the Drikung Kagyu Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism specifically for our busy and stress-fueled lives. The recordings here were made at a retreat Dr. Lye offered at Southern Dharma Retreat Center in Hot Springs, North Carolina in 2022.
